The CKZ Series is a review of the MIL-C-5015 series, with the same electrical and environmental performances, which presents some improvements relating to the coupling maneuver, in which the MIL-C-5015 has highlighted some critical points in use over time in the industrial sector.
The screw coupling of this standard in fact requires a UN-UNEF thread, a very fine pitch, which presents a certain difficulty in screwing, significantly amplified by the retention force of the contacts, especially in the larger sizes.
The small MIL-C-5015 coupling ring does not facilitate the operation and it may happen that the connector is not completely coupled, as there is no sensation or certain evidence of the correct conclusion of the operation.
It is clear that this condition is extremely dangerous, as the incomplete connection allows operation, given the retention force of the contacts, but the resistance to vibrations and the environmental seal are in fact compromised and over time can lead to malfunctions.
The CKZ Series overcomes the above critical issues with a larger and easier to handle coupling ring nut, with a trapezoidal thread, which facilitates the coupling operation.
The trapezoidal profile coupling thread is decidedly more performing, rapid and with a clearly perceptible end stop.
A red o-ring placed on the fixed connector which is covered by the coupling ring at the closure guarantees correct operation, introduces protection against the entry of dust on the coupling thread and increases environmental sealing.
The CKZ Series corresponds to IP67 and IP69K sealing, even in conditions combined with shock and vibration.
